Understanding and respecting the history of the land in Central Oregon is a priority when working with irrigation districts and land developers on water rights, easements and well agreements. Because several of our attorneys are Central Oregon natives, our knowledge of the region is a unique connection that enables us to understand local issues and develop all-inclusive solutions.

The Deschutes River Basin is unique in Oregon as a specially regulated region. Ground and surface waters are deemed hydrologically connected, unlike other areas of the American West, so aquifers and surface flows are considered jointly when changes in use are proposed.  Our expert attorneys work actively with irrigation districts, private developers, and the Oregon Water Resources Department to resolve conflicts between the needs of agriculture, wildlife, and municipalities, and work out solutions to these complex problems. Our attorneys also serve as general legal counsel to a number of irrigation districts in Central Oregon.
